1. What was the military's main source of communication before the computer? Although I am sure it was never an issue because they did not know what it was like not to have computers, it is hard to imagine what they did without them.

2. If automatic speech production and recognition were to be mastered, do you think it would be mostly used for companies and others trying to communicate across countries or would it possibly also be used within companies in replacement for conferences? If so, that could lead to a lot less personal interaction which would not necessarily be a good thing, would it?

3. Do you think there will ever be a device similar to the Dynabook, where you will be able to personalize it for your own needs? Or would it be too complicated to try to fit everyone's individual needs?
